Typography is widely observed in everyday life, as consumer culture has become the excessive standard. The packaging and advertisements that we view daily contain cultural signs that have subconsciously embedded into our perception of certain brands and cultures. The packaging for Shin Ramen uses a mix of English and Korean text , divided on the poster by a packaging overlay. This obvious separation represents the disjunction of Western and Korean culture, and the feelings of being confined to Western beliefs with the entrapment of the plastic sheen. The large script that looms in the background is obstructed by the word "in," conveying how Korean culture has been suppressed by Western convictions.
