Writing by: Mac Cathy, Bea Lomax, and Me

Where do our memories go, and why do we decide to hold onto certain ones? Our oldest memories are contorted with the passage of time, but we cling to these past experiences even as they are fragmented and changed. They continue to inform how we interact with the world, and as new memories come in, they affect how we react to the old ones. Journals and diaries contain some of our truest emotions and memories. Before these moments slip away completely, these excerpts are caught and written down immediately after they happen and preserved in their raw state. They serve as ways to process and store information, yet what was once true has been altered as we take on new experiences. These experiences and memories intermingle with memories of people we hold closest to us, and transform in a whirl.
